Safeguarding
Parkside Primary Academy is committed to providing a safe and secure environment for children, staff and visitors whilst promoting a climate where children and adults will feel confident about sharing any concerns which they may have for their own safety or the well-being of others. For more information please see our safeguarding policy or use the link https://www.safeguardingchildrenbarnsley.com/
It is everybody's responsibility to make sure children and young people feel safe and cared for. It is important that you know who to speak to if you are concerned about ANY child in or out of school. Passing on information could help to safeguard young people and should not be seen as interfering.
Our designated safeguarding lead is the Headteacher - Ms Rachel Ward.
In the absence of Ms Ward, our deputy safeguarding leads are: Miss Haverty, Mrs Kilgariff, Mrs Mann and Mrs Everitt.
You can speak to members of staff in confidence about any issues regarding the safety and well-being of children.
Useful contact numbers
If the child is in danger
Call the police on 999.
If the child is not at risk of immediate harm
If you're concerned about a child, but they're not in immediate danger, it's still important to share the information with social care as soon as possible.
If your call is not urgent contact the Assessment Service on (01226) 772423. Offices are open between Monday and Friday from 9am to 5pm.
