World Book Day 2019 - Best costume winners

Part of our Community

To improve our understanding of community in Royston and learn about people from different generations, the Junior Leaders decided to visit Oakwood Grange Care Home.

We were greeted with arts and crafts, hot chocolate and cookies! Not to mention the warm welcome from the staff and residents of the home.

The pupils loved creating Christmas cards, singing songs and just spending time with the residents from the home.

Paige summed it up by exclaiming, 'This is the best day ever!'

We were so proud of our Junior Leaders and they exemplify the CARE that we see in every child at Parkside.

Football Stars!

Some of our Year 6 pupils were chosen to take part in the EFL Kids Cup. They travelled to Barnsley football club and competed against football teams from around Barnsley. The pupils represented Parkside exceptionally well and were model team members!

Harvest Festival

Children had a wonderful time during our Harvest Festival at Royston St John the Baptist. Father Tomlinson also commented that it was a fantastic way to start the Harvest celebrations. The children were a credit to Parkside as always!

Yorkshire in Bloom

In the Summer, junior leaders took part in Royston Ward Alliance's 'Adopt a flower box scheme'. We were awarded level 4 Thriving! One point away from the top level of Outstanding. Parkside had a mention in the areas of achievement as they liked our 'colourful planters outside of the school gates.'

We would like to thank Mrs Pearson, Mrs Greenhoff and all of our junior leaders for creating a thriving addition to our school and community!

Community Crime Stoppers!

We like to keep our community safe at Parkside. This Summer we joined with our local police officers and PCSOs to keep our roads safe from speeding drivers. Students who had received no behaviour points for the whole year took part in monitoring drivers' speeds and communicating with the public about why it is so important to drive at the correct speed on our roads.

Summer Fayre 2018

The Year 6 summer fayre was a great success on Thursday. Year 6 would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who donated items for the summer fayre as this made the fayre possible. Also a great big thank you to the parents who gave money to their children to spend at the fayre.

We really appreciate it!

Miss Drake would like to say a massive thank you to the Year 6 children and their parents for their support for the fayre.
