Welcome to Year 6!
There are 31 wonderful children in year 6, who have many different talents. Such talents include: football, reading, writing, ice skating, and majorettes.
To date in English, we have written a Greek myth, a brochure about Greece and a non – chronological report about water. We have been enjoying our class book which is ‘Reckless: The petrified flesh’. It takes place in an alternative magical setting called Mirror World.
Our topic this half term is trying to answer the question ‘Will you ever see the water you drink again?’. We have been improving our map reading skills and discovering the human and physical features of different places around the world.
In maths, we continuously work on our mental and written calculation methods through the arithmetic starter. Our scores are improving week by week and many of us are regularly getting full marks. This half term we have been focusing on acquiring and embedding geometry knowledge learning about concepts such as: shape, area, perimeter, angles, reflection, coordinates and translations.
