Admission to Nursery
Children can be admitted to Nursery (part time - half day) at the beginning of the term after they become three providing that there is a place available. Please note, children can attend either the five morning sessions per week or the five afternoon sessions per week. Children are admitted purely by age.
Applications for Nursery places can be registered once your child is two years of age.
Application forms can be obtained from the school office.
Under rules issued by the Government, parents have the right to apply for a place at any school in Barnsley or the surrounding district regardless of their address. It is necessary to apply during the Autumn Term for children of statutory school age who will be eligible for primary school starting the following September.
Information on the school's admissions policy and procedure for applying for a school place can be found online at:
Please note that attendance at our Nursery does not automatically guarantee a place in our school.
Where the Governors are unable to offer a place because the school is over subscribed, parents have the right to appeal to an independent admission appeal panel, set up under the School Standards and Framework Act, 1998, as amended by the Education Act 2002. Parents who intend to make an appeal against the Governing Body’s decision to refuse admission must contact the Independent Appeals Clerk to submit a notice of appeal within twenty one days of receiving the refusal letter to:
